What are Crowns?

A crown is a restoration that completely encloses a tooth (or dental implant) and is usually cemented to the tooth. Crowns are used to improve the strength and /or appearance of teeth, and are used most frequently on teeth that have previously been heavily restored and/or root-filled.

Typically crowns are made of materials such as gold/porcelain/ceramic.

What are Bridges?

In case where implants can’t be done to replace missing teeth, a fixed ‘Bridge’ of crowns made of ceramic or metal-fused-to ceramic is glued to teeth on either side of the missing tooth/teeth.
